About Therapy

I see psychological therapy as a space for a person to feel safe and supported to better understand themselves, and through this understanding, make changes in their life that improve their wellbeing (hence, "All About Wellbeing").  I use therapy modalities and approaches that are trauma informed, and take a multi-modality approach based on what each individual client needs and wants from therapy. My approach is what I refer to as "professionally informal" and I am not a "blank slate" type of therapist, you will get facial expressions, genuine responses, and when appropriate, some laughs in a session with me. I value the therapeutic relationship highly, and prioritise this, as it is the foundation of progress in therapy. My preference is for longer-term therapy work, and when working with people who have experienced trauma, this is essential in order to build a secure therapeutic relationship in order to be able to safely work through trauma.

What I offer

Please note: I am not currently taking on new clients.

Assessment and therapy

This is the nuts and bolts of therapy. An initial assessment helps me to understand what is going on for you currently, what might have happened in your past to influence your current experience, and what you would like to get out of therapy. We make treatment goals and a plan for moving forward, and then jump (gently) into the therapy process from the second appointment.

Specialisation in pain and complex health conditions

I have a unique specialty, which is being a clinical psychologist who specialises in health psychology. This means that I have the skill set to work with people who may be experiencing both physical health issues, as well as mental health conditions. I prefer to work in a multi-disciplinary fashion when working with someone with complex health conditions, which means I communicate with other treating team members to ensure we are all on the same page.

Trauma work

I am trained in EMDR, and have completed introductory training in Internal Family Systems therapy, and use both of these modalities regularly. I have significant experience working with people who have PTSD and complex PTSD, as well as various forms of neurodivergence.
